Hi,

My parents visa was rejected. We tried to do a reconsideration appeal but the decision still remain rejected. We even added medical documents as I am pregnant (6 months) along with other required documents but still it was rejected on the basis of “Officer not satisfied that my parents will return to their home country, and also insufficient funds. Although , we showed more than sufficient funds and a net worth certificate. I don’t know what to do in this case, should I reapply if so what strategy should we use to ensure maximum chances of approval.

We even hired a consultant for this but it did not help.

How long was visit? How much funds? What ties to return?

Posted in another post but what ties did they show that they will return (job letter with approved leave, business, income property, children under 22) and their own cash in the bank ($10k cash per person for 2-3 week visit). It is their funds not yours. Adding medical documents would not help their application as IRCC would be concerned that they are not leaving. Saying you need help would raise red flags.

If PR then apply for supervisa.

You need to give us details like the length of their stay, how much they themselves showed in funds, their ties to their home country, etc. If you stated the primary reason for travel was to help you or help take care of the baby, that may have been part of the reason for refusal.

They have to show WHY they’ll leave . You focused on WHY they want to come .
Medical documents just weakened your case . Plus helping care for a new born in the eyes of the Government is unpaid work
