Hi

I am preparing the documents to apply for TRV visa for my parents. Me,my sister and our families are PR and living in Canada from almost 2 years.

I am worry about the strong ties that everybody is talking about that should be shown to make it easy and give them the visa from Cairo office.

My parents are retired and my dad is working a part time job as a consultant, so what strong ties should we demonstrate or this is not really required for parents?

Please advise.

Thanks

Yes - your parents need to demonstrate ties. Do they have property they own they can show as evidence? Can your father prove he is working part time? Do they have bank accounts or other assets?

yes they have bank accounts and they are getting monthly pension, and my father can provide a work proof, but they are planing to come and stay for 6 months, and he is taking vacation from his work, is that will be accepted?

I heard that if I can bring a recommendation letter from the parliament member in my living area could support, is that true?

Don't bother - they're useless.

Six months is a very long trip. Have they traveled extensively to countries in the past that require visas (e.g. US, Europe, UK)?

Only my mother traveled to US for one and half month!, also they traveled to UAE several times. shall we write it for 3 months in the application then apply for extension after if needed?

I would ask for 2-3 weeks.

do you think they dont have a good chance to get it? 2-3 weeks is a very short period compared with the expenses and flights that will be spent!
