Dear friends, Background: My parents are currently living in a country (not their home country) without status. 1. If I want to sponsor them to become permanent resident in Canada, do they need to return to their home country to do the application? 2. Will I be able to sponsor them if I meet all requirements of being a sponsor? Any helpful information (links, policies, etc,) will be appreciated!!
Everything you need to know about sponsoring your parents can be found here, https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/family-sponsorship/sponsor-parents-grandparents.html keep your eye on the IRCC website for an announcement of when the process will open next year.
I believe if they were to require a interview they will have to be present in their home country for the interview.
