Parents of one party aren't aware of the relationships - possible problems?

The story is as follows. Parents of one party aren't aware of the relationships. They weren't told as they have a strong ethnic/racial prejudice against the nationality of their child spouse. How badly will this affect the sponsorship? Other party's parents know about the relationships and are ok with them.
The parents live far away from Canada, while the spouse and a sponsor live in Canada, if this matters.

It's something you will likely need to include an explanation about in your application. There are parts of the application that ask about which of the family members have met your partner and which family members attended the wedding, etc. With one side's parents being absent, you will want to include an explanation as to why. It's not a dealbreaker, just make sure you address it in the app

Sure, we'll explain everything. But it's not about only absence, it is that they are not aware of the relationships completely. Just because they won't approve them.
I worry that this was held in secrecy from one party's parents might seem fraudulent to CIC.

It all depends how you handle it. If you tried to conceal from IRCC that the parents weren't aware of the relationship, it would 100% be a red flag. But being up front and honest explaining why they are not aware will help make sure it does not cause any problems for you. It's best to go into as much detail as you can. The fact that the other set of parents is aware helps a lot. I would recommend getting the other set of parents to write you a letter of support that you can include in your application.

You have to be upfront with Immigration. Write detailed explanation to them. I have similar situation, and it's all about race and culture and beliefs.
So we wrote a letter of explanation, and one family member wrote a letter of support (notarized).
Good luck
