Does anyone got a second pre arrival letter here? How long does it take a medical request come after pre arrival letter?

Yes it sometimes happens. There is no common timeline between both. Prearrival is an administrative step that happens any time after eligibility and is not really related to processing timelines. Is this their first medical? Have they passed their backgrounds check?

Hi everyone,


I’m sponsoring my parents under the PGP program and wanted to check with others who have gone through this stage. My parents received their medical exam request on December 18 and completed their medicals shortly after.


I’m trying to understand what typically happens next in the process.

• How long does it usually take to receive the COPR after medicals are passed?
• Once COPR is issued, within how many months do they need to enter Canada to “land” and activate their PR status?

Any recent timelines or experiences would be really helpful. Thank you.

Have they passed their background checks? Is this their 2nd medical? You typically have 1 year to land from your medical.

No medical request yet. Thats what we are waiting for at this time. Done biometrics, police clearance and paid RPRF.
