Hello Everyone,
My parents received the final decision letter in the portal today and I have couple of questions regarding following:

STEP 3: PREPARE YOUR DOCUMENTS
You must submit together:
1.
One copy of this letter.
2.
Passport(s) OR photocopy(ies) of passport(s), as explained in Step 2.
3.
Two (2) photos of yourself and of each accompanying family member. Photos MUST meet the precise specifications found in the link below or in Appendix A at the end of this letter. If you submit photos that do not meet the exact specifications, your package will be returned to you (www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/pdf/5445EB-e.pdf)
All required documents must be submitted in one single package.
A)
To submit your package while overseas:
Please submit your package to the nearest Visa Application Centre along with the VAC Passport Transmission fee.
B)
If you are currently in Canada:
You are not required to submit your passport and will be landed virtually. Please advise our office via webform within 5 days of receipt of this letter if you and/or any of your dependents are in Canada. Please include each person’s name/UCI and where they are currently staying/residing (in Canada or overseas).

My parents are currently in Canada and my questions are following:
1. Has someone used the webform to update IRCC about virtual landing? If yes, what option did you choose in the webforms, it is rather confusion?
2. The requirement to submit this letter and 2 photos and passport pages, if I am going to update using webform when will I submit these documents, in the webform iteself?

Help would be deeply appreciated.

Kind Regards,
What's ur timeline

Hi everyone,

I finally received the ADR and would appreciate any input from those with similar experiences. I have a couple of questions. I would appreciate all feedback.

IMM 0008:
I’m sponsoring only my mother, and in the “Number of family members included in the application,” I entered 1. The ADR from IRCC seems to suggest I should have included my father as well, changing that number to 2.
On the IMM 0008 form (PDF), my father's name does appear under “one or more dependents.” I’m confused because, in the online portal, I did include my father's information. I'm not sure why IRCC is requesting this again. Has anyone encountered this before?

ADR Letter comment:

IMM 0008 (for Principal Applicant): Based on the information provided within your
application, one or more of your dependants is not listed on the IMM 0008. Please
submit a newly completed and signed Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM 0008)
including your dependant(s) . A dependant is defined by IRCC as a
spouse, common-law partner, or dependant child of the principal applicant. A
dependent child is a child who is under 22 years old and is not married or in a
common-law relationship. Children who are at the age limit can qualify as a dependant
if they have depended on their parents for financial support since before they reached
the age limit and cannot finically support themselves due to a mental or physical
condition. The application should include the following people, if they meet the definition
of a dependent:
• Principal Applicant’s spouse or common-law partner;
• Principal Applicant’s dependant children from current and previous relationships;
• Dependent children of the principal applicant’s spouse or common-law partner;
• Dependent children of any dependent children (grandchildren of principal applicant)
included on the application. NOTE: all eligible dependants must be included on the
principal applicant’s application form whether they are accompanying or not. For the
above dependant(s) you must also provide a complete IMM 5669 and IMM 5406 (if 18
years of age or older). If the dependant(s) intend to now accompany the principal
applicant to Canada, you must also include: their proof of relationship to the principal
applicant, valid passport copies, and additional fees. Refer to the IRCC Website at
https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/fees.asp for detailed instructions on how
to pay immigration fees. If your documents are not in English or French, you must
include a notarized and certified translation with a copy of the original version.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IMM 5406:
IRCC didn’t specify any names in the request. In the portal, I listed all the required additional family members. However, for my mother’s deceased siblings, we did not include their addresses, dates of birth, or dates of death.
Since I’m only sponsoring my mother, I listed her maternal family only. Do you think IRCC is requesting this form again to get the missing death details? Or are they also expecting me to complete a separate form including my father’s side of the family as well?

ADR Letter comment:

MM 5406 (for Principal Applicant): The Additional Family Information (IMM 5406)
provided was not completed fully. Please provide a current, completed, signed and
dated Additional Family Information (IMM 5406) for the Principal Applicant and all
dependants aged 18 and over, whether accompanying or not. Each individual must
sign their own copy of this form by hand. Sections A, B and C must be fully
completed. For Section B, please ensure that you include ALL children, including ALL
adopted, step-children, and those who are currently a Canadian citizen or
permanent resident, regardless of age. For Section C, please ensure that you include
ALL brothers and sisters including half, step-brothers/sisters and those who are
currently a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. The Name, Marital Status,
Relationship to applicant, Date of birth, Country of birth, and Address must be filled. The
street number, street name, city, postal/zip code and country are mandatory for
Canada and USA addresses. All other countries must provide the City,
Province/State/Parish and Country. Please ensure that you provide the date and place
of death (city/town, country, or territory) for any deceased family members. If any
information is not known, please enter in “Unknown”. If you are unable to provide any of
the information listed above for any individual listed in section A, B and C, you must
provide an explanation. Please ensure that you sign the form by hand and dated
once it has been printed. Please submit the most recent version of this form.

Hi everyone,

My mother, who is the principal applicant, received the passport request email for her. In the email attachment, the letter is asking for my mom and her dependent to send their photos and passport to the visa office.

My mom traveled to Canada to visit us a few weeks prior to receiving this letter. My dad is still back home. We informed IRCC using web form that my mom is in Canada and my dad is back home. They replied saying they confirm that my mom's presence( I assume through CBSA) and have forwarded this information to the officer and they will contact us.

I was wondering if we can send my dad's passport and photo to the visa office or we need to wait for the officer to let us know the next steps?

Any help is appreciated.

To answer you questions:
1. IMM 0008: Yes I encountered this, hence you need to download the most recent form fill it up again and enter every detailed asked. For deceased people enter the place and date of the place where they were deceased, If you are not sure of the date, there is IRCC guideline to enter the unknown dates.
2. IMM 5406: Provide all the details as requested above, do not miss anything, if you are entering something that you think does not make sense, still do enter it, and include it in letter of explanation. Make sure that you do it according to the guidelines from IRCC, you should be fine.
