Just make an ATIP request to CBSA - they use the same gcms system and I've found that CBSA are usually faster in responding.

I applied for both CBSA and IRCC notes separately. Do you think the level of detail for CBSA is higher?

Any one know of any comprehensive security check cases being resolved recently? I am Dec 2023. Losing hope at this point. Thought 36 months would be the maximum it would take overall...

Sucks. Sorry to hear that. Im thinking of trying my luck with the web form and see if I get any response. I got the notes last year after waiting a few months but didn't help much other than knowing the obvious I.e., enhanced security checks.

Surprisingly I got a quick response on my web form inquiry. Unsurprisingly, it sounds like a generic response stating they were on my application and there was no action required from me at this time. They will be in touch when that changes.

oh thats a while. What do your GCMS notes show. Do you know where the checks are stuck?

Surprisingly I got a quick response on my web form inquiry. Unsurprisingly, it sounds like a generic response stating they were on my application and there was no action required from me at this time. They will be in touch when that changes.

Once comprehensive check lasts over 2 years it is time to consider applying for a writ of mandamus to hopefully force IRCC to provide a response.

Do you know if anyone had success with that? A friend of mine whose citizenship application is taking forever, filed the writ but haven't received a response on that either.

Yes if it has been long enough IRCC is usually instructed to give the applicant and approval or refusal within a relatively short period of time. It may take 1-2 years to get your case heard which is why I would suggest filing now especially if from a few select countries like Iran, China, etc.

no it's the same, although depending on the agent working on your request there might be small changes in what security info gets redacted

Application status on gcms shows "On Hold - pending verification activity" since Jan 2025
