Fingers and toes crossed! That would mean less than 3 months from now...the processing time shows 7 months. Sigh!

Not directly, no. Although, the city we belong to is a military canttonment area.

August update says 7 more months. Same as last update. Now 10,200 people ahead of me (reduction of only 100 people from last month).

Where do you see it say 7 more months? I applied end of Dec 2023, got the pre-arrival email June 2025 but since then all silence. Cannot even access my application online. No medical request yet either. CIC did ask for further documentation thrice which were last requested and provided in April 2025.

If you go to ircc website and look for processing times, it will ask you some questions and based on when you applied , it will show approximate time remaining. It updates every month, usually around the 10th. Also, I have never been able to see my application online at ircc online status check tool. However, once I linked the application to the GCKey, I was able to see the status through that portal.

It is weird that if I enter applied date of November 2023, it shows me 7 months of estimate time left. However, if i enter December 2023 as submission date then it says "We need more time to process your application", without giving any estimate of how many months left.

That's strange. I played with the estimator too and some dates do show up with that message. Honestly, I have no idea how some applicants from 2024/2025 ate processed already and many from 2023 are still waiting.
While not the same, a friend of mine has been waiting for his citizenship for over 2 years now. Apparently, enhanced security screening is what stalls the applications. He even tried writ of mandamus but even that didn't generate any response.
