Updated processing times published today - still 7 months left! it has been showing 7 months ever since they updated the processing time tracker. Interestingly, on 200 people appear to have their files processed since last month (I noticed it stated 11,000 people were ahead of me last month. now it says 10,800)! the month prior, it appeared that about 600 people were processed. the average for the last 2 months comes to 400 per month. At this rate, it would take another 27 months !!! I hope I am wrong.

I think it depends on the officer handling your profile.
My citizenship application took 2 years whereas my friends who applied after me got it within 7 months.
I have also seen a lot of 2024 folks in the PGP path got their PRs already.

You just need to be lucky with a good officer I guess, it's not a first come first serve case at all.

I think it has to do with enhanced security checks. My file was progressing rather smoothly until nov 2024 when enhanced security began and the rest is history.

Just a question please, since obviously my brain is thinking of the worst case scenario: what are the chances of the application being refused at this stage? I got the pre-arrival services e-mail last year, and my parents don't have a military/diplomatic background. File's in Vancouver.

Just wondering...

reminds me of a quote, " if you are going to overthink, then overthink the positives". to answer your question, as you may now, with any immigration file or most things in life in general, nothing really is done unless it is done. that said, unless there are serious concerns noted in enhanced security checks, I think it's safe to assume that the chances of a refusal are slim. let's think positive. we shall all have our files processed (positively) in the next 6 months or less. (hoping)

Prearrival letter is purely procedural and happens some time after eligibility is passed. The name is very confusing and doesn’t indicate that a decision is imminent. Refusal can come at any point but PGP typically gets denied due to income or excessive demand on the healthcare system reasons. If there isn’t obvious background issue then your application should be processed in 1-3 years typically.

Its been a long journey with you all. Finally got my eCOPR.

Congratulations. There is hope now. Please, can you share your timelines?
