I am not sure how this works, I have been browsing through PGP sponsorship for 2023-2025 and noticed those in 2023 are still waiting on responses or progress whereas 2024 and 2025 are way ahead in most cases. Why is 2023 moving so slow?

About 4 weeks ago got a letter requesting passport. When we went for biometrics, paid some extra fees and so got some prepaid currier service with instructions to follow when we got thr Passport request. So we followed them to a T.



Its been four weeks and I got a notification that your visa decision letter has been dispatched from New Delhi.



However, passport was sent to Chennai 4 weeks ago. Should the passport have not been sent? Why is the letter coming from New Delhi?

Congratulations on your PPR. Although they will see it in their system but if you are concerned, you can send New Delhi a message via webform informing them that passports were sent to Chennai 4 weeks ago. You can also upload a copy of the letter from the Chennai office. Thank you.

Hey everyone my parents' sponsorship started in 2023. I believe it was in December but I will confirm with them later. My sister is the sponsor.

There's still no update.

Has anyone's parents gotten their visa yet from 2023?

Edit: I checked the link that was shared recently in this thread and checked the estimated timeline. It says 9 months left!

I dont intent to worry you, but i was in the 2023 pool and applied in Oct 2023. My parents got their PR in May 2024. I hope since the time you posted this there has been some progress with your application.

Processing times are incredibly variable. Some get processed fairly quickly while it can take years for others. All depends on things like background (citizenship/employment history), health, how many applicants on the file, whether there are H&C considerations, etc. Annual quota also a factor, Quebec applicants, etc. also impact processing. Getting selected even if takes years to process is still essentially like winning the lottery.
