Parents details in minor's paper base application

Hello All,

I have question regarding Minor application for my son. In parent details in case of Mother's name should we write last name prior to marriage or last name after marriage. What does this mean to us name before marriage if applicable? I haven't found any clarity in application guide.

b. Surname (Last name) (name before marriage if applicable)

Usually female adopt the spouse last name after marriage so is that fine to use if child birth is after marriage?
