Hello Everyone,
I got invitation last week. I am way above income requirements. My question is, I contributed 35000$ towards RRSP in 2021. Therefore it counts as deduction from total income for tax purposes. Will it affect my income requirements?

Congrats!! and as per my understanding RRSP should not impact total income ,
Also can you confirm from which email ID you got this confirmation email . Just to track in spam

What does your 2021 NOA state for your income?

We’ll accept your application without your NOA for the 2020 tax year if you don’t have it by the time you apply, but you must submit it as soon as you have it.

Income that does count toward your total income (as long as it’s reported on your NOA):

  • Employment Insurance special benefits, such as maternity and parental benefits
  • any Employment Insurance earnings for the 2020 tax year
  • Canada Emergency Response Benefit
  • other temporary COVID-19-related benefits
    • as long as they are not part of provincial social assistance programs
  • paid parental leave
  • RSP/RRSP withdrawals

Does anyone know how many people applied for PGP in 2020?
I wonder if there aren't a lot of people left especially after removing duplicates?

in 2010 they accepted 10000 applicants in 2021 they accepted 30000 and 155,000 left in the pool ,23100 should be receiving invitation to apply in 2022 ( as announced recently )taking in consideration that IRCC will always select more then the announced number of people ( in principle )to get to these numbers .

I think there are still 155k left from the pool from which 2022 invitations will be drawn. Not sure whether this is before or after removing duplicates. And I think over 200k had applied (before removing duplicates) in 2020
