Please I am in a state of complete confusion.
I got invitation to apply in October 2023. I submitted my parents application in December 2023, but until now I haven't heard anything. I don't know if the application was submitted or not.
How do I know if the application was actually submitted please?

Quick Question:
My parents' immigration is still not done yet, waiting for the final decision, meantime their Visitor Visa status is expiring on 14th April 2024, should I request for extension (2nd time) or do they come under "implied status" (formerly called "maintained status") and I do not need to worry ?

PR application do not give implied status. Extend their stay.

Received medical request for my dad on Feb 12 th and for my mom on Feb 16th. But for my mom there was no medical form attached along with the request. We sent in a webform and also called IRCC twice. Still did not receive medical form. Don't know how long will it take .

I see that you are confused. Try to ask and read the PGP 2023 discussion.

Hi everyone. I applied for my parents in December 2021 after receiving the invite. My application is a bit unique. I became PR in September 2019. I was supposed to show income of 2018, 2019 and 2020 to be an eligible sponsor. When I applied in December 2021, I requested to reevaluate my income based on more recent years (2020, 2021 and 2022). I did selected NOT to withdraw my application in case if I am an ineligible to sponsor. To my surprise, I received an 'Fairness Procedural Letter' asking for 2020, 2021 and 2022 incomes in July 2023. I am meeting the minimum income requirement for 2020, 2021 and 2022 to sponsor. I submitted the necessary documents (Notice of Assessments).
I was also asked to submit PR fee, medical and police certificates in July 2023. I submitted all of those in August 2023. I am currently waiting for an update from IRCC.

Upon calling IRCC I was told that only security check and sponsor eligibility is pending and the rest is completed. I am unsure If I am approved as a eligible sponsor after submitting new financials details. Anyone in the same boat as me?
I have updates to share regarding my application.

Below is my timeline for PGP 2021 (2 applicants):
  1. December 2021- Application Submitted
  2. April 2022 - AOR
  3. July 2022 - Sponsor eligibility Failed
I selected to proceed with application even if ineligible. Provided letter of explanation with a strong valid reason of why income is not meet with initial application submission.
  4. July 2022 Biometric Request
  5. November 2022 - Sent webform to reconsider my eligibility as my reason is valid
  6. December 2022 - Received Letter telling that decision cannot be reconsidered
  7. June 2023 - File moved to Vancouver office
  8. July 2023 - File moved again to Etobicoke office
  9. July 2023 - Received email to submit medical, PCC, RPRF fee, family linkage form
  10. July 2023 - Submitted above documents
  11. July 2023 - Miracle happened, PFL letter received to submit income for 2020, 2021 and 2023 to re-evaluate sponsor's eligibility
  12. July 2023 - Submitted NOA to show that income is meet for 2020, 2021 and 2022
  13. October 2023 - Asked to submit one from as it had an error. Submitted within a day
  14. October 2023 - As per GCMS notes, officer is satisfied with income and passed eligibility on H&C grounds.
All steps are completed in my application except for Security screening.
Reason for not meeting MNI for 2018, 2019 and 2020 - I became Canadian PR in October 2019. I was meeting income requirement for 2020 but not for 2018 and 2019 because of not being in Canada for those 2 years.

Security screening starts only after eligibility is passed. In my case my eligibility passed in October 2023. Feel like I have to wait a long time before I see PPR. Hoping for yet another miracle!!

[URGENT]

Hi Everyone,

I had a very specific question regarding: my parents’ PR application. I applied for their PR in November 2021 and last month they completed their medicals. Their biometrics were already completed in July 2023.

We recently had a huge family tragedy due to which I need to bring them to Canada ASAP. I’m thinking of applying for a Short Term (TRV) or Super Visa. My question is whether it will impact the PR application? Has anyone faced a similar issue where someone applied for a visa during the process of a PR application.

Your insights will be very valuable indeed. Thanks very much in advance.

Apply for Super Visa or TRV will not impact their sponsorship application. Look at their proof to see if they will be able to get TRV (if they are financially good and don't need your support, may be TRV)
If you are sponsoring them with PGP, you sure have meeting the LICO, so super visa should be OK.
