Hello everyone.

My wife recently got her approval and PPR. We've submitted her passport. She's wondering if it is possible or recommended to have her parents follow her on a super visa to help her settle here when she flies over.

I have no issue with that as her parents are really nice people, but I just want to make sure that they don't encounter any issues. If it would be better for them to follow a few weeks after, I'd like to know.

Any advice would be appreciated.

It should be no problem at all. The supervisa app and your wife's PR app are 2 separate things.

Her parents can't actually apply for a supervisa until after she has landed in Canada as a PR.

If they want to fly with her when she does her landing, they need to apply for TRVs.

Agreed. They don't qualify for a super visa at this time.

Ah yes, her spouse can't apply for in-laws so must wait for PR status.

Of course TRV is basically just as good, and can apply for supervisa later on if parents want to stay here longer term.
