My work permit and visa are expiring in 10 days, but I have already applied for an extension and received confirmation of maintained/implied status.

Since my marriage is planned in Canada within the next two months , I am planning to invite my parents from India on a visitor visa (TRV).

Can they apply while I am on implied status, or do I need to wait until my new work permit and visa are approved?

**Not a legal advice** - Since you are on maintained/implied status, your parents can likely still apply for a visitor visa, but the strength of their application may depend on your current status documents, proof of your extension application, wedding invitation/details, their ties to India, finances, and reason for travel. Because timing is tight and your own permit is pending, it may be worth checking with an immigration lawyer or licensed consultant before applying - You can connect with an immigration lawyer in minutes using Olanur platform(free to use Canadian platform). It can help connect you with Canadian immigration legal professionals.

Yes they can apply. Assume you didn't do a dummy extension. Their application is based on their profile - ties to return, travel history and their own funds.

SPAM AI site and doesn't do what you say it does. Only the RCIC site does.

I think you got it wrong. Its Immigration lawyer(not consultant) and its a technology platform not consultant searching platform. Nevermind, question was more related to visitor visa application

To clarify, I have not made any dummy extension application. I am on a closed work permit, and my employer has submitted the extension on my behalf.

I just wanted to reconfirm whether my implied status would have any impact on the approval of my parents’ visitor visa application.

Thanks

So you have a new LMIA with extension. They can apply and has nothing to do with you except it show family ties in Canada and not in home country. They are approved based on their ties to return home.

The forum is run by a Canadian immigration law firm - Cohen. So it is against forum rules to post any sites. Plus your site doesn't show licensed immigration lawyers as that is only through RCIC.

Thanks for the information. FYI - LAWYERS are not subject to RCIC they are regulated by provincial Law societies- if you meant immigration consultants thats different. The platform homepage clearly says its a legaltech platform to connect with Lawyers not immigration consultants. Googling Olanur might help you a bit.

Right but if you go on the RCIC site, you can find licensed consultants who are lawyers. Stop posting the name you are directing traffic too. Most lawyers have no immigration knowledge.
