Hi, I am from Atlanta USA, I have approved PR under parent sponsorship visa, deadline to land on 12 june, my sponsor my daughter lives in vancouver, but due to present situation of COVID 19 it would be difficult for me to fly and expose during my flight, I am 68 and my wife 65 on high risk, so i was thinking to drive to toronto via buffalo border, is it possible for me to do so ? can I get my BANK ACCOUNT, SIN NUMBER and Other formalities done in Toronto ? please advise. thanks

Yes, you can drive to Toronto. However, you will need to quarantine for 14 days upon entry, which means going straight from the border to wherever you are going to stay and no going to banks, grocery stores etc.

Why not drive to Vancouver instead? Have your daughter get you food, medicine, etc.

I shall have to quarantine for 14 days then I can join my daughter, ofcouse I arranged for grocery and medicine already with me, btw, upon receipt of my health card would I be able to get health facility or will have to wait ?

If you will be moving to BC you will have to wait until you get to BC to get a health card. You will only qualify for Ontario healthcare if you plan on remaing in Ontario for over 6 months or you can be asked to repay any costs. Getting into a GP as a new patient at the moment is very difficult at the moment and plan on many months if you need to see a specialist. The wait times will be extremely long after covid.
