PARENT SPONSORSHIP AFTER DIVORCE WITH COSIGNER

Hello everyone,
I am very new to this forum. My case is I applied to sponsor my parent and my brothers to come to Canada on Jan 2018, and the problem is my wife and me are going to divorce soon. Will the divorce terminate my sponsorship application immediately? Can I modify the application when I am married with other in the future?

The last question, can I do the divorce application without help from the lawyer? Do we always need to go to the court for the divorce?

Do you meet LICO to sponsor your parents and brothers without your wife’s income? You have to meet the LICO requirement throughout the process. Once the divorce is finalized, your family size should decrease by 1. Other than that, divorce shouldn’t affect your application.

You can do the divorce yourself, but it does have to go through the courts.

If you make enough income on your own to meet LICO, then the application will not be terminated.
