Palestinean desperately needs to travel to CA with some questions.

Palestinean refugee, Currently living in Lebanon where I have no rights, no standard of living advancment, my salary is my house's rent and is going downhill from there.

I have been contacted by my mother's relative that is ex-palestinaen now Canadian citizen which is guiding me and is willing to sponsor me to travel to Canada for refugee.


So what he told me is to apply for a student visa as a way to get to Canada and to seek refugee there. Now I'm really uninformed and have 0 knowledge about this process.

When I arrive to CA, can i directly apply for a refugee status? How long does it take to be accepted as a refugee? If I'm accepted as refugee, will my college tution fees be counted as domestic fees rates? And after I get my work permit, do jobs pay enough for me to rent a studio, pay for my living expenses(food) and hopefully save to finish my college degree?

Plus since I have no funds in my bank, is sponsorship from my canadian relative accepted instead?

Please understand that I'm a very productive person and would love to become a Canadian citizen and be part of the it's community because where I'm currently at is depressing.

To be honest, the chances of your being granted a visa are very low. You have lots of "red flags". By all means apply but don't be surprised when you are denied.

Here's a list of the obvious ones.
1) No ties to your home country.
2) Low income.
3) No savings.
4) Relative(s) in Canada.
5) Currently a refugee anyway.

Worry about getting an approved TRV first. Right now this is your biggest obstacle and your chances of refusal are extremely high. Your status in Lebanon, as well as your available funds, will make it very difficult for you to show ties and prove you have no plans on remaining in Canada long term. You must show you have strong ties to have any chances of being approved.

1) I think your not aware that Palestineans cant travel to palestine because of the occupation by Israel, so basically we have no home country. Plus I was born in Lebanon and havent left from since.
2) I'm currently a senior university student, the job im working is not in my profession so I won't even mention it, I just mentioned it here to state my reason why I want to travel to CA.
3)this question is still unanswered, thats why I asked whether my relative can sponsor me instead of owning any funds
4) He is a really far relative, he's just there for the sponsoring.

Worry about getting an approved TRV first. Right now this is your biggest obstacle and your chances of refusal are extremely high. Your status in Lebanon, as well as your available funds, will make it very difficult for you to show ties and prove you have no plans on remaining in Canada long term. You must show you have strong ties to have any chances of being approved.

Yes - you can claim asylumg when you arrive if you get a TRV approved. It takes 2-3 years to be accepted.

Hard to tell whether just being Palestinian will allow you to get asylum. Lack of opportunity,poverty, etc. are not grounds for asylum. Do you have legal status to remain in Lebanon? You would need to have status in Lebanon to get approved for a TRV but if you had legal status to remain in Lebanon that would hurt an asylum claim. Actually studying in Canada and then working with a PGWP in a NOC 0, A or B job would be the best way to get PR.
