Pakistani passport holders processing time under CEC

Hey everyone

I'm just starting this thread because I wanted to get an idea of how long CIC takes to process applications of Pakistani passport holders under CEC. I understand that usually applicants get the RPRF/Biodata Request with their medicals but there are some applicants who don't receive it and they get it after a few months. So I was wondering if this is because of their country of nationality. And if it is, after how long does the RPRF/Biodata Request usually come?

I got my medical request on the 11th February and completed them on the 26th February. I am yet to get the RPRF/Biodata request and am kind of worried about how long they will take. My ECAS still shows "application received". I was planning on travelling in the summer after I get my PR but if CIC is going to take a long time to send the RPRF Request then I might as well travel...

If anyone has had their RPRF/Biodata request delayed, please post your timelines here. Also anyone with a pakistani passport who had their RPRF or Passport request delayed, please post here. Any replies will be appreciated

Thanks for setting up this thread. I've been meaning to do that because the waiting time for Pakistani applicants is aignifantly longer. The security checks usually start after the RPRF when your application is set to in process. There are a couple of applicants from November, January and February who have already been waiting 2-4 months since their MR. It would be interesting to see what the timelines are.

No problem! Yeah, that kind of sucks for us...I wish we got it with the other applicants...Did you get your medical request? What is your timeline?

Sorry I just saw your timeline...so I'm correct to assume that you are yet to get your passport request?

Great so far your file is moving on the same average pace of CIC regardless of passport. My room mate is also a July applicant he got his medical call last week he has different passport though. Be patient Inshallah you will get your Biodata soon and pray for us.

PPC Received by CIC: February 22nd 2014

Now the await for PPR starts. I get my GCMS notes by 5th or 6th March so will update you guys on that.

on a side note. My brother also applied for CEC and did his medicals/rprf in November 2013..hes a November 2012 applicant and he is still waiting for his PPR 3 months in counting for him. Called his MP and they said Pakistani passport holders have a long background and security check.

Let's see what happens in the next few weeks. InshAllah it wont be long now

Inshallah very soon your brother will get his PPR. MP! how come MP has to do anything with CIC or CEC files?

Getting the medical request is not a problem..if you got your medical request, then you are at the minimum "recommended passed" by the CIC officer. It's the RPRF/ Bio data/ Passport request which takes a long time to come as they start conducting background/security checks after they determine you are eligible.

Thanks for sharing your timeline! It's really helpful. Yes, Inshallah you will get it soon..it's a good sign that you got your rprf/bio data request last week..Your security checks might be at the end stage perhaps hence they have sent you the RPRF Request..Let's hope for the best!

The RPRF only means that the application has been found eligible. According to my GCMS notes, my security had not been started just before I received the RPRF. I would assume the security check starts after the RPRF is sent.

So does that mean if you get MR your application, NOC codes and everything was fine ?
