Hello,

My friend is a Pakistani Citizen, few years back he got married to a US citizen girl and stayed in USA, but it didn't work out so they got separated and my friend went back to Pakistan. My friend initiated a divorce in Pakistan and sent the divorce documents to his American wife.
Later he got married in Pakistan with a Pakistani girl and they are living happily. They want to apply for Canada Immigration but want to make sure that everything is fine in their case. They are fulfilling all point requirements.

My question is that will that US marriage which has Pakistani divorce against to it, be acceptable in Canada?

Please respond as soon as possible or if there is a lawyer who can help, let me know.

Thanks

Best Regards.

Please answer in simple words, I have posted this before but whoever answered, made it hard for me to understand the solution. Thanks

Canada Immigration won't care as long as the divorce decree is legit. It's good idea to have a proof that he actually sent the divorce papers to his wife in case Canada Immigration asks. For the US it's a different story as divorce needs 2 signatures, if not, there is a long process of local publication for a divorce to be granted. Your friend need not worry about this.
