buddy I m talking about excess baggage.....not the one which is allowed in tickets.

in tickets u r allowed 2 bags per ticket.....each 23 kg........total 46 kg.

in excess baggage u can buy one bag of 32 kg for CAD$158 online at emirates website after buying ticket. or u can buy as much as u want on the same rates....maximum allowed excess baggage per ticket is 5 bags of 32 kg each.
Asalaam O alaikum,

We will be travelling to Canada by 15th June InshaAllah. I am planning to pack my stuff in cartons. Can you guide me where to get these that comply with Emirates size specifications.

The Prosperity Index ranks Canada 5th in the world!

Following are the areas of growth:

1. Social Capital
2. Economy
3. Entrepreneurship & Opportunity
4. Governance
5. Education
6. Health
7. Safey & Security
8. Personal Freedom

-----------------------------------

What is too attractive in Canada:

No discrimination, people are sincere, honest and work in systematic ways.
I trust they understand how important is the education of kids. I trust they understand the importance of once career and life.

How bitter the word 'discrimination'! Humans....what a nice creature....why we can not love them. why we put them down just for am impression! why we punish them to examine their patience?

Friends, when you be there try to speak only truth. Truth not about others. Truth about yourself. A person can tell a truth only about himself. If you see a bad thing/ disability (Aeb in Urdu) in anybody, you should hide it. However, a truth about yourself is so important.

I mentioned above points to you to think about it and participate yourself in these area. You can participate in these areas well if you have appropriate skills to do so.

If you want to go Quebec. Learn French. Stay in Quebec and prove yourself. Do not run any other place becuase you will sign a contract with Quebec government. It is my idea. Do not run away.

Be hurry to change your life in positive direction. If you are hurry to change you life in positive direction, I do not see anything bad in it.

Finding a job is a key factor in your successful immigration. Looking for a job can be quite demanding; you need to be prepared to learn and tackle new challenges. To enter the labour market, you may have to accept, initially at least, lesser responsabilities than those you
had in a previous job or even change your occupational field.

Make a mind that you are moving to Canada permanently. Look at forward direction and forget U-turns.....a very bright future is waiting for you......so guys move forward, move, move move.....

According to the 2014 ICEF i-graduate Agent Barometer, Canada continues to be perceived as the second most attractive destination for international students!

Do you know why?

Becuase their education system is good.

I would like to quote a Hadees here in Urdu roman:

Hazrat Mohammed (PBUH) eik khush jungle se guzar rahay thay. Arab ka ziyada tar elaqa es hy. Wanha eik young boy Bakria (goats) cha-ra raha tha. Aap nay os goat ka milk managa. Os boy nay kaha ye falanay ki goats hain aur wo amanat main kheyanat nahi kar sakta. Aap os boy ki baat sun kar buhat khush howay aur osay shabash di. Phir eik bakri ki taraf eshara kia. Kia ye milk deti hy?

(Agar biyan main ghaliti howi to Allah mujhay moaf farmaye (Aamin))

It mean, if you are honest and you know your work well, you will treat as an educated and qualified person. At the time of introduction of the boy he was not muslim but Aap (PBUH) called him educated boy. Honesty is the best policy. It can prove that you are a highly educated person.

I don't think so cartons are allowed in emirates.......u check with emirates 1st cos if not allowed then they will reject to book ur luggage.

second thing......cartons don't have handles to handle them..........how they will handle a 23 kg carton? u know well that they just throw our luggage from here and there......imagine if there is no handle to catch or carry the luggage then what they will do? this is my assumption. consult with emirates office and then do the packing accordingly.

I don't know from where u can buy cartons for packing. I would advise u to buy suitcase or medium size trolley that is easier to handle and carry. otherwise I think they will just throw ur luggage here and there and cartons might get damaged or break during travelling.

One of my colleagues travelled to Canada via Emirates and she used cartons. She taped them completely and I don't think she encountered any problems. The reason I'm planning to pack in cartons is because they would not weigh much (5 gms or less) as compared to a trolley bag or a suitcase. The other option is sports bags but they're not as big as the cartons.

on a ticket there are 2 bags allowed......23 kg each. now if the weight exceeds then they will charge for it. like u said in one bag u have 24 kg.....that's ok.....1 kg up and down is allowed.
but in another bag u have upto 34 kg......that's straight 11 kg more........so they will charge it by per kg basis. I think nowadays per kg extra charge is around pkr 1200 per kg. that's what I guess. im not sure so u can call and ask Qatar airways about it that how much they charge for each extra kg.

about excess baggage.....the benefit of flying from emirates is.....they allow extra bag for up to 32 kg! the other flights like Qatar or Etihad just allow 23 kg in excess bag......so u get 8kg benefit for same price if u fly with emirates. now again its personal choice but due to this benefit I prefer emirates.

now see one thing.........when u buy 1 excess baggage......in emirates u have to pay CAD$158 for that and can pack 32 kg in it. it doesn't matter if ur excess luggage is of 1 kg, 5 kg, 8 kg, 13 kg, 19 kg, 25 kg or 30 kg...........as long as it is equal to 32 kg u can pack it in one bag. they will charge u standard fees for excess baggage....no matter u pack in 2 kg or 22kg or full 32 kg. the price is PER BAG or excess luggage.....not PER KG. I hope u understand it.

yes I m taking medicines for 1st 3 months..........which include all types of medicines..........antibiotics, cough, fever, anti allergy, pain killers.....everything......for first 3 months.........I have made 3 different certificates from my physician........dividing all medicines into 3 people.......1 certificate for each. its actually not a necessity but yes as u said if cbsa officer demands it then we have to show it otherwise they can keep medicines with them and after through scanning and searching they will give it back......also they can confiscate it. so better make a certificate about them.

by the way........y u r taking Qatar airways? 2 stops? does Qatar directly flies to Calgary? or from London they will give u other flight like air Canada or American express? if this is the case then better consider emirates........khi to Dubai then to Toronto......from there u can have air Canada connecting u to Calgary. emirates rates are cheaper nowdays due to some promotion going on. u can check as per ur needs.

that's great to know.......then u can ask her to let u know from where she bought cartons. may be u can search local paper market where cartons are made.......u can buy from there but I have no idea about it.

but one thing is of problem.........if customs or FIA here at Karachi airport asks u to open and let them check any luggage then what u will do? how u will pack again? and tape the whole carton again? let suppose they ask u to open 2 cartons.......then what? that would be a problem for u to pack again the whole carton and tape it again!

Close your boxes with Masking tape. And bring one new masking tape with you. If anybody opens your boxes, pack them again with Masking tape. Inside airport you can use plastic wrapping service. :D
