OWP - status update?

Hi everyone,

Newbie here. I've noticed that people who submitted their OWP applications around the same time as I did have had their OWPs approved, but I haven't. I'm trying to check the status online, but perhaps because it was submitted with the application, I can only see the status for the main application. There is no mention whatsoever of my OWP application. Is this normal? Is it possible that there could be an issue with my OWP application?

Any peace of mind would be greatly appreciated!

when did you submit your pr and OWP application?

did you submit an INLAND PR application?

are you currently in status?

Hello. Thanks for trying to help. The PR and OWP application were submitted on Jan 3, 17. It is an inland application. I am not sure what you mean by "in Status", but the latest entry shows that we "are awaiting final decision". Thanks again

if you submitted your application on Jan 3, then you are still within the normal processing time for the OWP, and all you can do is wait. the timeline for the OWP is 4 months from when the application is received. some people get approved sooner, but it's not as common. most people get it in 4-5 months.

by status i mean what is your legal status here in canada, not what your application status is. are you a visitor? worker? student? is your status still valid?
if you did not have valid visitor, worker or student status when your applicaiton was sent in, then you would not be eligible for the OWP.
