Hello everyone,

This is a question which my friend has. He sent a spousal sponsorship application over a year ago, still did not get first stage approval. He is on LMO work permit up until next month which can no longer be extended. he never included OWP application with his initial inland sponsorship.

If he sends an Open work permit application now, should he send it to Missisauga as an 'addition to current application', or should he just forget about this idea and apply for a visitors visa extension and stop working? anyone has an advise or has had a simulation situation before? Would they even add his OWP application to an inland spousal sponsorship one?

thanks for any feedback!

Your friend will not benefit from implied status, since his current WP cannot be extended. He should definitely stop working, but whether or not to apply for a visitor extension is up to him. If it were me...I would.

Further, CIC would not add an OWP to a previously submitted Inland application.

Once he has AIP, he can then submit the OWP.

Agreed with Ponga - it's too late to send the OWP. He won't have implied status. He needs to stop working once his current work permit expires.

Hi
I'm currently using PGWP but its gonna expired next year. Am I able to apply a new open work permit which is based on my wife's Study Permit(Until Jun 2016) ?
Thanks
