Hello,

I sent my common law inland application with OWP application on March 3rd and I just found out that IMM5710(OWP form) was updated last week. I've heard horror stories about returned packages because of updated forms (even though the forms were updated after the package was received by CIC) and I'm extremely nervous about my package.

Should I send the updated form again? Will CIC attach the new form to my original application?
Any information will be appreciated!

if you application was received before the day new form came out, then you don't need to resend.

say you didn't submit the OWP with the inland app, are you able to send it after you sent in your application?

Yes. The fee is $155 + $100 = $255 (unless it's gone up again)

If you have legal status, you will receive the OWP under the Pilot Program that launched last December. The estimated processing time is supposedly ~ 4 months.

If you do not have legal status, you will receive your OWP after you reach stage 1 approval (AIP)...and will still be without status, but able to work.

Legal status, what does that usually mean in terms of CIC. I am just inquiring as i submitted my app or i thought via outland but i found out today it was inland, so my last resort if it was inland to hopefully apply for an OWP but if i wouldn't be able to obtain one until first stage AIP which is 17 months that is useless and i will withdraw and resubmit again. :-\

Simple: Have you overstayed your current visitor visa, or stay? If you have not, you likely have legal status and would indeed benefit from the Pilot Program OWP if your application was submitted as Inland.

You need to maintain your legal status throughout the process, to avoid any possible `problems' with CBSA and CIC (in regards to the OWP eligibility...if Inland).

I wouldn't be at all surprised to learn that this is yet another CIC error, as I've seen it here before, telling you your application was Inland when it was really Outland.

I have never overstayed on either a work permit or the 6 months that I do get as a U.S citizen to visit Canada, that being said if my application is indeed Inland ( i still need to confirm with the most incomptenet immigration consultant i used to assist me in this process ) but the worst case scenario, i do have the option of obtaining an OWP( in as little as 4 months?) if i do keep the application inland, as i do not want to withdraw and wait 3 months for another FBI clearance.
