Hey folks

I'm about to graduate from a diploma program (35wks, almost 9mo) in a private institution and I would like to know if I'm able to request an open work permit through flagpoling based on my following history:

- Experienced overseas on freight and logistics (more than 3 years)
- Former ESL student in Canada (2014)
- Post-secondary education in Canada on the same field
- Possible job titles that match my education and professional background on NOC levels 0, A, B, C
- IELTS clb 9:
Writing 7.0
Listening 8.5
Reading 7.5
Speaking 7.5

I still don't have a job offer but maybe I could request an open work permit based on sections 200 and 205 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations?

(c) the foreign national

[...]

(ii) intends to perform work described in section 204 or 205 but does not have an offer of employment to perform that work or is described in section 207 but does not have an offer of employment,

205 A work permit may be issued under section 200 to a foreign national who intends to perform work that

(a) would create or maintain significant social, cultural or economic benefits or opportunities for Canadian citizens or permanent residents;

* Imports and exports are responsible for 60% of the Canadian GDP.

Perhaps I could show up at the border with the fee + all the forms + college diploma + a letter of intent with detailed history and attach supporting documents (IELTS, Stats Canada pages, current study and work permits)?

Of course I'm trying to build a network and trying to get a job offer but if it doesn't work out do you think flagpoling is a viable way to get a new work permit?
