I am currently applying for OWP as a sponsored spouse in Canada. My status is student(study permit)

In imm5556 checklist
"if you are a student: Proof of your academic standing: letter from the institutional registrar and/or photocopies of transcripts from your last two periods of study"

However, I can't find any information that says proof of academic standing is required as a sponsored spousal.

my question is
1. Do I need to provide my transcript even though I'm applying as a sponsored spouse? or it is for the people applying for PGWP?

It would be better to show that you are a genuine student in order to reinforce the fact that you are on the pathway to be able to work and apply for PR. Not technically required but depending on your relationship history it can alleviate any concerns that you got married to secure status in Canada. How long did you date before getting married? Was this in person dating? How long were you dating before you got engaged? How long did you wait before getting married after getting engaged? Did you have a wedding that is common based on cultural norms and relationship history? Were both your families in attendance? Did you have a wedding and reception even if the reception was inexpensive like backyard bbq with friends and family or did you have a court wedding? Did you live together before marriage and are you living together after marriage? The answer to the questions will give you a better understanding of what VOs consider when looking at spousal sponsorship and whether there is concern that the wedding happened to secure status in Canada or was this a genuine relationship. You can both be securing status and have a genuine relationship but when international students stop studying to get married there is generally some scrutiny. Did you stop working if you stopped attending school full-time?
