OWP “UNDER REVIEW”

So,

I submitted my Spousal Sponsorship Jan 16th 2018 along with open work permit application. Today I called CIC call centre to check up on where it stands and the agent told me that it was “under review”. So I asked her what that meant and she was completely unhelpful. She also said that if I hadn’t heard anything by August 16th, that’s when I should call...

Has anyone experienced anything like this before? I am currently under a temporary resident permit and work permit but I am worried that when it expires in July I will have no status and have to leave the country, therefore jeopardizing my current Inland Spousal Sponsorship application.

As long as your Work Permit application is In Process, meaning you have not received a yes or no answer, then you can stay here in Canada as you have implied status.

Just curious, for which reasons can an OWP can be refused if filed with the spousal sponsorship? (other than because the spouse sponsorship is declined)?

If you paid the wrong fees, filled paperwork wrong, or if you were out of status when applying (this would delay the OWP approval until PR app goes to AIP stage).

Has your application approved or not?? I called call agent they said under review that’s why asked
