I was working in Canada for 1 year with temporary work permit. I stopped working the day my permit expired, but I stayed 9 days longer because I got a cheaper and convenient ticket back home. I am from visa exempt country and had no plans to ever come back here at that time.

Now, 2 years later, I decided to apply for PR. I got an invitation letter and I am about to do my biometrics.

However, in my application, I mistakenly wrote the day I left Canada as the day I stopped working, which is incorrect.

Couple months ago, i flew to Canada for a short holiday, and the immigration officer did not ask or tell me about my previous overstay. I had no problems getting in.

My question is:
1) Will 9 day overstay deny my PR application?
2) I submitted application, and did not mention my 9 day overstay, should I cancel my application and submit a new one (will need to re pay fees)?
3) What is the worst case scenario if I continue with my application as it is right now?

Send an updated form before they even get the chance to question you about it. If they find it, and ask, it could be construed as misrepresentation. I doubt a 7 day overstay would make you ineligible, but misrepresentation will for sure.

Is there a way to change this part of the application/inform them without submitting a new application?

You might have questions to answer if you choose to notify them.
I would apologize and admit my mistake that I forgot to fill the exact date. What is there else to say? I did no harm and they even admit my re-entry.

So if they did not stamp my passport after I left, they still must know the day I left Canada, but in some cases they just won't bring this up? So it is better to stay quiet and try to get lucky?

As well, as I already submitted incorrect information, there is no way to go back at this point?

Don’t apologize. If you want, let them know it’s a correction after reviewing your records.

Don't even bother unless they stamped your passport at the time of exit from Canada(does not happen for most of the people). By withdrawing your application and mentioning the 9 day overstay, all you will do is complicated your application and open yourself up for questions.

Bad advice to not inform IRCC. It is simple for IRCC/CBSA to find out when a person left Canada. If OP's mistake is caught BEFORE s/he owns up to is, it will be considered misrepresentation. If s/he informs IRCC of the mistake before they find out, there will be no issue.
