hello all,

I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on this situation. I am currently in Canada on an extended visitors visa and due to be expired on July 10th 2012. However I have only now managed to find an employer who is willing to hire me under the LCP program and has only just started the process with the ad on the job bank. I know that to get the LMO can take several weeks. I am afraid that it will take longer than my authorized stay. But I want to stay so that I can submit my work. permit app to consulate in Seattle or Buffalo. Any feedback on if I overstay if i would be granted restoration of status if i tell CIC it was for reason of waiting for the results of LMO?

Try to extend your visitors Visa....

I am already on an extended visitors visa. Isn't it easier to apply for restoration?

Apply just before it expires.... Thats the only way you can stay and legally apply for your work permit. otherwise you will have to go back and come again once u get your work visa.

You can apply for restoration; it is neither easier or more difficult considering the extension or restoration can have as much chance at getting approved or refused. What would be more difficult would be obtaining your Work Permit/visa considering you have to apply out of Canada, the US being the closest and it would be advisable to maintain your status before you send your WP/visa application.
