if you have to tell one estimated time then what it should be?

There so many changes happening at once and variable that it is hard to estimate what processing will be for dependents. For example if dependents complete the medicals and there is an irregularity on the chest x-ray, it will take a while to get reviewed because it must be done by IRCC medical staff and then a sputum culture and a repeat chest x-ray will be ordered. The sputum culture and repeat chest x-ray would add at least an additional 3 months to pressing. The 1 time policy has lead to faster processing for protected people and refugees in Canada but the volume of their dependents is increasing very quickly while the annual quota for their PR has not increased to account for the increase in the number of dependents.

Then the important point is that P1 for the principal applicant does not necessarily mean the dependants' PPR will arrive immediately. IRCC can finalize the principal applicant first while the overseas dependants' medical/security processing continues. My rough expectation: if there are no additional issues, the PPR/medical request could come within days to several weeks after P1, but there is no guaranteed timeline. Some overseas dependants can take longer even after the principal applicant receives P1.

Days to several weeks is likely the exception these days. Minor dependents without parents in their home countries may still get this faster processing. It is though to anticipate home many dependents will be added due to the much higher volume of protected people getting PR these days.

@Freivy there is no need to contact your MP unless there is a problem. They will get the access to the same information you can obtain yourself. The big issue is that mat are stuck in the local IRCC waiting for their turn to land. That information and wait times do not show up in IRCC information.
What can be done at this stage besides waiting? We are completely finished with the entire process, and our medical exams cleared perfectly. The wait is becoming very difficult. September makes it four years weve been in process.

While the targeted, one-time initiative for onshore Protected Persons has successfully streamlined domestic PR processing, overseas dependants remain subject to severe processing delays.

The mounting backlog highlights the urgent socio-economic cost of prolonged family separation.

All eyes are on the upcoming Immigration Levels Plan (in November?) to see if IRCC will launch a specialized project or dedicated target to bring these families together.

After a recent update, my eCAS now shows “Decision Made”, and a new correspondence entry appeared dated September 2, 2026. Has anyone experienced the same Decision Made + “We sent you correspondence” combination? If so, how long did it take to receive PPR, and what was the correspondence?
We received nothing in mail though i checked every folder
Can someone give insight on this

IRCC’s recent effort has helped people already in Canada (onshore Protected Persons), but their overseas dependants are still facing very long waits. However, the wording “IRCC will launch a specialized Levels Plan project” is speculation, not something confirmed yet.

Those with two or more dependents that already received medical requests. Did you get the requests for all the dependents at the same time/ day or did they come on different days ? Just wondering because I have 3 dependents but I only received medical request for 1.

No I’m not under pilot program. I got my PR in March and they have been processing for my dependents since then. I did a dna test a few months ago and the only remaining step was Medical request. I was just a little worried because the only sent for 1 child instead of 3

For those with dependants overseas, im August 2023 applicant. Got my ecopr may 06. Same day my dependants were requested for medical and complete other form ( did it before but ircc requested again).

Aug 13 requested for police certificate, for spouse, and the imm5604 ( asked because of the minor).

Sep 01, passport requested. So around 4 months after I got the PR.

Our country is part of the pilot project and we submitted all documents quickly. Smooth process, no issues with security, no sickness to report. No changes in family structure.

Why they are processing some app faster than other? No idea. But you should know is possible to get it fast ( well , 37 months for them, not fast at all, but faster than others).

Hold on and keep hope and faith.
My best wishes for all you guys.

My situation is a little different from the example above, and I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has had a similar experience.

I received my PR eCoPR on August 12, 2026, and received the PR cards for myself (Principal Applicant) and Dependant 1 on September 2, 2026. However, I am still waiting for Dependant 2's PR card.

At the same time, my spouse is outside Canada and is being processed as an overseas dependent.

My spouse's timeline:

  • February 7, 2026 : AOR / confirmation that my spouse was added to my PR application
  • May 7, 2026 : Medical request
  • May 9, 2026 : Requested to complete IMM 0008, IMM 5645 and IMM 5642 again
  • May 15, 2026 : Medical completed and submitted
  • May 21, 2026 : Police clearance, birth certificate and ID submitted through webform
  • June 1, 2026 : Biometrics request
  • June 3, 2026 : Biometrics completed
  • September 5, 2026: Police certificate requested again (not submitted yet)
  • September 5, 2026 : Requested Address history and working history again
  • September 7, 2026 : Pre-Arrival Services letter received
I understand that the Pre-Arrival letter is not a confirmation or approval of my spouse's PR, but I am hoping it is a positive sign that the application is progressing smoothly.

I will submit the newly requested police certificate as soon as possible.

For those who had an overseas spouse/dependent, especially those who received Pre-Arrival after their principal applicant already received eCoPR, how long did it take from Pre-Arrival to Passport Request (PPR) / final decision?

Any experiences or timelines would be greatly appreciated.

Wishing everyone waiting the best of luck.

First of all Thanks for giving us hope. I have question why minors were requested for police certificate? Were both parents inside Canada?

The imm5604 for the minor, i mean is requested because of the minor. Police certificate for the spouse.
One parent, main applicant inside Canada.
