Hi all. I have gotten ITA. Now filling up my details. My work history and education section looks like this:

January 2011 - August 2014 - professional certification
September 2014- September 2016 Work
July 2010 - March 2015 degree.

Now there's an overlap of six months. But the thing is this degree was in collaboration with my professional certification which was finished in August 2014. After that I was just required to write a thesis, submit it and I was awarded a degree, the result came out in March 2015. During the first few months of my job I only dedicated one or two hours a day to that dissertation.

The main content of the degree was studied during the professional certification. Both educations have been considered equivalent to bachelors.

What should be done about this overlap. Thanks

There is no problem with the overlap, as long as you can provide docs to prove. I had an overlap between my masters degree and my experience, as I joined before finishing my final semester. I entered the dates as such and didn't encounter any problem.

Thanks for the input. So even an explanation in LOE isn't needed?

For my case, I didn't provide any. I did not think of it as a problem, so explaining in LOE never crossed my mind.

There is no problem if the work experience and education periods overlap. My entire MS degree was done while I was working Full time and claimed CRS points for. There is no LOE required nor provided when I applied for E-APR. I have my PPR and CoPR is on its way, dont worry and go ahead and submit your application. Good Luck!

I have completed BCA (2 years, lateral entry, on basis of 2 year full-time Diploma in Computer) from Himalayan University. But between these duration I have done full time Job.

My main question is "HOW I WILL JUSTIFY IMMIGRATION OFFICER ABOUT THIS IF HE CROSS QUESTION."

My college is in Arunachal Pradesh, India and I worked in Mumbai, India. It is private state University recognized but UGC. I had leverage to work from home.

Please reply my worries are my enemies. Dreaming about Canada PR about a decade and don't want to be get vanished due to any reason.

Foreign work experience obtained during a period of study (even if enrolled in full-time studies) is eligible for foreign work experience points under Express Entry’s Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). Foreign work experience completed while studying is also eligible work experience for the purpose of the Federal Skilled Worker Program and Federal Skilled Trades Program.

The restriction that work experience must not coincide with full-time studies is only relevant to the Canadian Experience Class Program and the points awarded for Canadian work experience under Express Entry’s CRS.

This restriction is not found in the Regulations as it pertains to the qualifying work experience for the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) or the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP). As a result, an individual’s Canadian work experience while enrolled as a full-time student can count towards the eligibility requirements of the FSWP or FST. Nonetheless, the candidate will not be awarded any points for Canadian work experience or foreign work experience under Express Entry.

Hi Ankiagoyal,

I have an issue with my CEC application.

My Foreign experience - Oct 10, 2016 - Sep 26, 2019 (As per my experience letter, Relieving letter)
but I actually worked between - Oct 10, 2016 - July 31, 2019 (after that it's company policy I need to exhaust my pending vacation, which was still Sep 26, 2019, then my sabbatical started (leave without pay)
So I didn't work between Aug 1, 2019 - Sep 26, 2019 period. But I don't have any proof regarding that

My Canadian Education - Sep 9, 2019 - Aug 26, 2020
I resigned from that job on October 28, 2020, and got my relieving letter on Nov 11, 2020.

Now you can see, that I have an overlap in dates between my foreign experience and my Canadian education.
My Foreign experience - Oct 10, 2016 - Sep 26, 2019
My Canadian Education - Sep 9, 2019 - Aug 26, 2020

will that be an issue on my CEC application? Is there anything I can do about it?
