I cant seem to find sort of a tracking thread for applicants from the US to CPP-O. I'm sure they exist so can people please share their experience and timeline, so I can have an idea? I am sending out my application in a week, sending to Mississauga but I understand my processing center will be CPP-Ottawa and visa office I specified is Detroit.
I keep seeing alot of Buffalo and not Detroit.
Oh, i am also being sponsored by my husband who is a PR.

Share yours!

Re: Outland US applicants to CPP-O

Thanks!
But I keep seeing those who went through buffalo first and had their application sent after it was closed. Or am I just misinterpreting it when I see such?

I think the thread is for applicants that went to Ottawa straight, or the ones that were just started at Buffalo when it closed - all applicants from before May 1012 have been transferred when it closed, and people applying after May went straight to Ottawa, and they are all in the same thread as it was specifically started when Buffalo was closed - see the first post of the thread.

I went straight to Ottawa. Our sponsorship approval letter came from O and mid-way thru the letter it said based on my address my VO would be O since Buff was no longer processing, I'm April 2012 applicant. According to Detriot website PR visa's should see CPP-O so maybe thats why you arn't finding any from Detriot? I dunno, I think they are trying to make it harder more confusing, as if the application and gathering documents isn't bad enough LOL time and patience we need lots and lots of it! GL!

Thanks cremepop!
Thats kind of what i needed to know. But isnt it weird that your Visa Office is in Ottawa? i thought it should be in the US since you are an outland applicant.
Thanks again

Well with the closing of Buffalo and all the other things that VO's process they have to make it up somewhere, technically the closest VO to my home state would have been Washington D.C. as its only half an hr from where I live, next would have been NY and then Buffalo there have been rumors that cases are going to O and given a once over and if they are "thinking" an interview may be required they send it to a VO in the US for that purpose. another thing I was told is if your applying out-land but are in Canada as a visitor they will try to accommodate that, we did send a copy of my visitor record with the application so who knows? I don't pretend to understand how they figure things out I'm just along for the very long ride LOL
