Has anyone changed their application from Outland to Inland? Is that possible?

hi there, I believe you have to with draw your application and then re-apply.

I wouldn't see the point in withdrawing to go the inland route being from the US. We withdrew and went the other way because inland takes way longer, no appeal ect. Why are you considering that?

We're considering it for financial reasons. It's become quite stressful and costly to keep two dwellings in separate countries.

You don't have to keep two dwellings in different countries to apply outland.

Can I move to Canada and still keep my outland application?

Technically you can't "move" but you could "visit" until your application has been decided if you are visa exempt or have a TRV to enter Canada. There are plenty of threads and advice on this forum about what to show CBSA when you cross the border.

Seriously this is coming from a US inlander. Do NOT withdraw and switch to inland. And if anything it puts more financial strain on you. We have already waited almost 7 months for a decision and with the way processing has slowed down, we could be looking at another 4-5 months of waiting and this is only for the first part if you are lucky enough to be approved. And that only allows you to work after that long wait. You can't visit home either because if you do you can risk not being let back in and your application become voided so the whole time you were waiting was useless. Please don't do this to yourself. Do as others have recommended and keep your Outland application in process and visit Canada for the duration of the process. Other members who have done this I am sure will be able to help you. Good luck.

Linalizzie you're almost done. You've paid the requested fees and are basically waiting in line :)) Hang in there!

If you withdraw now, I believe you will only lose $75. A refund for the other fees if no decision has been made while withdrawing in time applies to inland applications, not sure how it goes with outland.
Like I said, do your research, then make the decision yourself.
I see now that you applied in July, 2010... There must be an issue with your application as it's been over their record 3 month processing time...
Then again (an including myself), I have read so many cases of someone getting the letter they've been waiting for if not tomorrow, couple of days later... patience is a virtue.

Rodbod I know of quite a few people that had the landing fees requested through Buffalo and paid for them around end of October to beginning of Decemeber that have not heard back yet. I don't believe there's any problem other than waiting in line to be finalized. They wouldn't request the RPRF if they weren't going to issue the visa. Hang in there Melina!

Whose "record 3 months processing time"? Buffalo's?? Think again. Buffalo is currently finalizing spousal aps in up to 11 months time. Gone for now are the days of 3 month timelines for anywhere but Beijing, China . . . and even that one is four months.

Linalizzie - from what I gather from our previous conversation(s), there has been no indication at all from Buffalo that there is anything wrong with your application. It is true that you can come to Canada to visit whilst the application is in process. Best to have your sponsor accompany you into the country, prove your legal relationship and that he has a job and can support you, and show that you have a PR ap in process and they should document you on a visitor record that allows you to remain in Canada for up to six months. If your PR is not approved by then, you just submit an application to extend the VR (by mail from within Canada) and as long as it's received by CIC before your VR expires (with proof, again, of your legal relationship, his support and the PR ap in process) they will keep extending until your PR is approved.

I know we talked about you maybe having to do another medical - you can do that in Canada. Also, be sure to notify Buffalo of your mailing address change to Canada, and don't try to bring all your stuff with you. Put everything but what you'd need for a normal length visit into storage at home . . . you cannot import your household belongings, etc., until you are a Permanent Resident.

Well to be fair to Robrod, the November timeline thread is currently hoping to get their PPR now or in the next few weeks so the rumour got out there somehow!

Come on guys, we all have something in common. We have all had rough goes waiting, stressing and hoping to hear from the embassy, some more than others.. let's keep it clean. We are here to help and console each other... not to make anyone feel their opinions are worthless.

We are all here to help each other, no doubt. Otherwise why be here?.
I was an inlander just like so many others and waited for a total 17.5 months all together. And I got lucky since so many have endured or are enduring longer or more difficult processes...
Let's hold hands together and pray for everyone the way I've seen it doing it nicely at the end of an NFL game...
Rob.

Can I get the water cooler for the next person that gets PR?

Don't. You are almost done - the interview has been waived, so expect your visa soon.
