Is it true that depending on the case and strength of proof, the officer handling your outland application in Canada can choose not to forward it to PA's local visa office? I was talking with an IRCC agent and he mentioned this to me. I just wanted to confirm if this is true and how fast those applications usually get approve.

Yes, that is correct. For strong, non-complicated applications, they do tend to process faster in general. There is still no set timeline for the processing of any application except that most are processed in an average of 12 months.

There is currently a pilot program in place where some straightforward applications have been processed completely in Mississauga instead of being transferred to the VO. The criteria for the applications to be kept in Mississauga was never made public.

Thanks to both of you! Another thing, do you guys know if they're still doing that process with Sydney applicants? Our application was just received earlier today, and I'd like to think that ours was very straightforward. Haha! Nothing wrong with hoping that your application is approved sooner. :p

Nope, it remains to be seen. It takes long enough to receive AOR that no applications sent to Sydney have even gotten to the point of being transferred to a VO yet.
