Outland: EE post-final decision with a US passport

Hi,

I got an ITA and submitted an app earlier this year via the French stream (outland). My IRCC account shows a final decision was reached early this week, but no other communication yet. From what I can tell, outland applicants aren't supposed to get a P1, and Americans also don't need to send their physical passport in. So what exactly happens with us?

Final decision is really meant for IRCC employee purposes not for applicants. It is very normal not to hear from IRCC right after a final decision has been made. A final decision means you are now in line for landing. You will get instructions to send in your passport for stamping in the upcoming days to weeks. You will get a COPR as an applicant applying for PR from outside of Canada and not virtual landing. The COPR will have an expiry date and you need to land in Canada before that date.
