I'm getting confused with the General Application IMM 0008. They ask you to fill out your "Current Country of Residence" and "Residential Address". I am applying Outland while IN Canada - what address and which country do I put ?? The one in Canada or the one where I would actually reside if I was outside Canada?

The one where you actually reside outside of Canada. You are NOT a resident of Canada for the purposes of the PR application, you are a visitor. As long as you remember that, filling in the required information becomes self-explanatory.

Actually, no, this is not correct. If you are in Canada you can use your Canadian address as your residential address. Although you are not a permanent resident to Canada, you are a temporary resident. It's your choice and it won't affect your application negatively.

Thank you!! I just don't want to have the CIC thinking that I'm a fraud, because on the Sponsored Spouse/Partner Questionnaire form they are asking again if I currently live with my Sponsor, so I will just say yes and add that I am a visitor, but on the General Application I will put my actual residential address outside Canada, I hope that won't have any negative effects.

What if you're on a Visitor's Record and not a TRV? I'm visa exempt, so I don't have a TRV.

hey guys, i am about to send my application in 2 weeks to CPC-M while living in vancouver and my second stage will be processed in west Africa Senegal Dakar.
i am really excited and nerveous because i don't know if i included all the supporting documents but i think i do but would like to hear from other ppl what they sent as supporting document beside proof of joint bank acct pictures, calls histories. i would really appreciate it.

You are still a temporary resident. You just don't need a visa to enter the country.

I happen to be filling out an extension for my Visitor's Record and noticed I have been using my Canadian address as my home address in all of them. Hahaha.... they've all been approved so I guess that works!

I was told this by immigration officer in K-W area... you are a Visitor until you have PR visa you can not "live" you can visit for 6 months, so
yes you can use a Canadian MAILING address not a Canadian residential address (mailing address and residential addresses are different) if you do you are admitting to a crime... living in Canada without the proper visa (in this case the proper visa would be the PR visa) is a crime.... you are VISITING and visiting only....

Admitting to a crime? BS. What crime? Where is it in the Criminal Code or IRPA? Look, I've done hundreds of these. "Live" and "residence" in this context mean different things. Yes, if you plan to live or reside in Canada without status that's a violation of IRPA. But as long as you are in status, there is no violation. Hell, if you are doing an In Canada Class application the law requires that you MUST "reside" together. That immigration officer obviously requires more training in the law. Even if you are out of status and violating IRPA, as long as you are not removal ready you can still file an In Canada Class application and they will let you stay until a decision is made!
