On Sept 23 we will be leaving Canada for a week, wondering if there will be any issues getting back in? Any paperwork that we should carry with us. We applied OUTLAND so I do not assume that there will be any issue,.

Thank you

more likely than not, you won't have any issue returning. no one can tell you exactly what will happen because it's dependant on the CBSA officer you encounter. yes, it is advised to carry copies of your pr application, letters received from CIC, and receipts for application fees. if you have proof of ties to your home country, even better. it's perfectly acceptable to say "i'm here to visit my spouse/husband/wife. i have a pr application submitted." be prepared, be honest, and don't elaborate on answers. don't use the terms "living" or "moving". Use the term "visiting". you'll be fine.

Thank you, I truly appreciate your input. So far only an AOR1 and SA approval has been received, and I do have a copy of the application/receipts that I will also carry with me. Thanks again.

that's all you really need, aside from proof of ties to your home country - if available.

You don't need to carry a copy of the application or receipts. The SA email is sufficient.

Sorry, but from personal experience I don't agree with this. Last time through the border, I was specifically asked for my PR app copy, receipt for fees, and medical exam results. The CBSA officer was only going to give me a month, until I showed those items. Then I received a 6 month visitor record and passport stamp.

Every reentry is at the discretion of the CBSA officer interviewing you. It's far better to be over prepared, than not get in.

I'm guessing you were travelling before SA, so CBSA most likely couldn't see your app in their system and therefore wanted more concrete proof that you had applied.

The SA letter is the most concrete proof.

Would you mind updating me how things went for you? I'll be in the same situation in October and I was wondering myself how that'd go. I'd appreciate any info a lot :)
