When an outland application for a US citizen requires an interview, where is the interview held? In the USA or Canada?

I don't know the answer, but apparently it is very rare

Outland applications are processed through the visa office that serves the applicant’s country of origin, or where they have been lawfully admitted for at least one year.

Since the overwhelming majority of U.S. applications are process IN Canada (Mississauga first, then sent to Ottawa), I suppose the interview that you're convinced you will have, will be in Ottawa. ;)

Trust us when we say that you're worrying needlessly...honestly. There have been so many U.S. applicants that chose the Inland path and regretted it in the end.

Thank you Ponga for your reassurance :) We just want things to go smoothly as they have so far, its stressful. We just try and stay positive and hope for the best but thank you!

If I am remembering correctly, I had to select an interview location of either Los Angeles or New York City on the initial application for Family Class Sponsorship (Outland). I too am a US citizen.

Weird, I do not see a space to choose on any of our forms? How long ago did you do yours?

I just looked through my files. Apparently selecting an interview location was on the old set of forms from 2016. Applying for PR as a US citizen, the interview locations offered were Los Angeles and New York City. As of this year, this form is no longer valid. My apologies.
