Hi all!
I have a couple questions about landing and couldn't find a thread specifically addressing them:
My common-law partner from Argentina is (finally!) coming to Calgary to live on July 19th. He will have all the forms and the visa in his passport ready, along with his 2 suitcases (that is all he is bringing). What kinds of questions should he be ready for? Is there any interview element to this part, even though he has been approved? Does the address he give need to be the permanent address or just the one where they are to send the PR card (as in, will the address be printed on the PR card too?).
Thanks for reading through all my questions!

The only questions they were asked is if they have ever been convicted of a crime and another one that i cant remember there is no interview at all. the address should be where the PR card will be mailed to.

Thank you!!
They also will ask the questions listed on COPR, such as any dependents, relationship change or not and etc. to confirm that your partner has no condition changed after the COPR was issued to your partner. Just provide them the truth, and your partner should be fine. Also, even your partner only will bring two suitcases, he still needs to prepare two copies of BSF186 (BSF186 a, if he needs more lines to fill) form (goods to accompany) to claim duty free on his belongings. He needs to ask the immigration officer to stamp on those two copies (One for them, one for your record), during the landing formality. Any valuable jewelries, besides to list those on the BSF186 (BSF186 a), your partner needs to take pictures of them and print them out and include those pictures with those forms.

You don't need to fill out any forms on the site. The BSF186 is the form you need to prepare before your landing. it is for the belongings that you need to be either accompanied with you while you land or you ship those things into Canada. It's called Goods to Accompany form or Goods to Follow Form (same form, but you have to check the options to be Goods to Accompany or Goods to Follow). All the items listed on the forms will be DUTY FREE, otherwise, anything you bring into Canada will have been assessed with import duty.

We never had any mention of any of those forms at all on any communication from PPR on. They also didnt ask about anything we were bringing in.

Then obviously you didn't do your home work right. The form isn't a mandatory form that everyone needs to fill. It is for those that will have bunch of personal affairs that need to bring with them or ship them to Canada, and everything listed on the form will be duty free.
