Just to let everyone know I withdrew my Outland application now going through my inland application. Cic looks like it's not accepting any application with out of status. Has the law changed for real

Where have you heard this? I know for a fact people have been approved this year outland while out of status.

Uh, I am not sure what you guys are talking about. You saying you can't be in Canada while applying outland while out of status? Yes it can be done.


Edit: Ok Help22 I read a few of your past posts and I get it now, don't let the paranoia destroy your life. We had the same problem and overcame it, and in the end it was not that bad. Sometimes reading every last possibility makes things worse. It's too bad you withdrew your outland Its much better to just deal with it than to let it get to you and keep procrastinating.

You can apply outland while out of status. The only issue would be that if you were caught out of status and then subsequently deported, then you could be deemed inadmissible or have an exclusion order, which would negatively affect your PR application.

Yes but the chances of getting caught are pretty small, unless you committed a crime and then caught by an officer, or if you were driving and speeding, and then get pulled over. The chance of getting caught is fairly small, and CIC isn't exactly actively searching out TRV overstayers

Ok I will do it I have to. I can't live the way I live. I will be back with answers.

So I guess this means that you never did call CBSA (anonymously) like you said you would? How else do you expect to get an honest answer about your situation? If you had...and were told that you'd likely be left alone, even with an outland application, you could have contacted CIC and cancelled withdrawing the outland application, but now...it's too late for that.

As wonderful as these forums are, nobody here knows how those without status are treated when submitting an outland application!!

Spouses and common law partners of Canadian citizens and permanent residents in Canada who wish to apply for permanent resident status are required to have legal immigration status in order to qualify under the Spouse or Common-law partner in Canada class.
