Out of status with a new LMO

Hi! I was terminated from my original employer a weeks before my work permit expires. Fortunately i got a second employer, my new manager processed my LMO. After more than a month i tried to follow up the status of my LMO application. He said nothing to worry about, but give more patience of waiting because it is on process. Same reply i got when i asked him after two months of application. Until he found out that it wasn't received any application to Service Canada. I'm now in a lack of status. But i got a new LMO from a third employer.
My question is: Can i go to Montana border to apply for a work permit? Please advise.

If your status expired less than 90 days ago. You need to apply for restoration of status. So $200 on top of the $150 for work permit.
I am not sure if you can do this through flagpoling, But I am sure you can apply online or through paper application.

I just wanted to give you a heads up about restoration because if you applied for a work permit without having status restored it will be denied.

I'm already in a lack of status because i didn't applied for a restoration as i was laid off from my original employer in which my work permit belongs. I heard about flag-poling to the border and get a visitor visa? Then back to Canada and apply for the work permit, does it work for me?

Flagpoling won't work for you since you're out of status. You'll need to leave Canada and apply for the work permit from home.

Thanks! I understand what you mean but is there any option that i may try instead of going home to my country?

When did you go out of status? Are you still within 90 days of that date? If you don't want to leave Canada, being able to restore your status is your only option.

I already lapsed the 90 days grace period without restoration. Does somebody had the idea or any options instead of going home to my country? So desperate, please help and advise.

I don't think you'll have any other choice but to leave Canada and apply from your home country.
If you do not leave soon, You will be given a removal letter. And you don't want that.

How about getting a visitor visa in the border? Then apply for the WP?

You can't get a visitor visa at the border.

You're out of status and beyond the 90 day period to apply for restoration. Exit the country and apply for the WP outside of Canada. You'd be asked to explain why you overstayed though, prepare a good explanation.

Any suggestions out there?
