My son has a Canadian visitor visa and both his passport and visa will expire soon. I have renewed his passport through the embassy, and now I have his both passports; the old one and the new one.

My question is:
How can I re-new his visa with the new passport?

Also, I want to re-new my study visa with my current passport (i.e., I will not renew my passport, only my son passport). We are currently here inside Canada.

Thank you so much for any help

Go to your school international office you need to renew study permit, after you get study permit you renew your TRV.

Does your son not have any permit? And only a visitor record which maximum is six month? If so then he can apply to extend that but there is no guarantee if/for how long it will be granted.

Thank you so much for your help

I'm here in Canada, so I think I need to submit everything via CIC website! Am I correct?

My son has a permit to stay as long as I study there. The problem is his visa is valid for his old passport, and now I want to renew his visa but with his new passport. Is it a straight-forward or does it need some special/additional documents?

Also, when can I apply for the renewal? Our visas will expire in December and I don't know what is the earliest date I can submit my renewal documents to CIC.

Thank you again
