Original Passport with Application

HI,
I got a positive LMO and my future canadian employer wants me to apply for WP in NY office.
I am in USA on WORKPERMIT and very much worried for submitting original passports with application.

can anyone guide me please ? Is it must to submit original passports with application ? :'(
Is there any other way I can do ?

After all the process is done they will ask you for the orginal passport to put you visa on. They need it otherwise where will they put your visa?
The work permit will be given to you once you are at the point of entry. Border or immigration officer.

You do not need to pass the original passport with the application. They will write you a letter stating they will need your passport now for visa stamping. Goodluck!

Also when it is time for you to send the passport make sure you pay a little extra for postage with tracking number. This way you can make sure that it has reached the cic office and you have proof of that.

I applied my CANADA TRV in new york consulate in person, submitted all my applications and my original passort with a return evolope USPS Expree mail with tracking 1 day delivery .

In my case, i submitted my original passport along with the other documents. I handed mine in perso. At VAC New York and they asked me to submit both my old and new passport. Apparantly if you are applying online you may keep it until they asked you to send it. I am not sure about mailing the documents if it is mandatory to include original passport
