Original Copy Of Documents

Hi Guys,

Do we need to send everything in original copy? t4, birth certificate, notice of assesment, applicant's police record, marriage certificate and etc?

Somebody told us to send only the photocopy of each and once CPC in MISSISSAUGA submit all our documents in Manila they will ask the applicant for all the original copies?

I'm thinking what if we send everything in original copy here in Mississauga so that they won't ask anything from us in Manila to avoid delayed processing? Does this sound safe?

Noooo Never, Don't send any original paper other wise CIC is not gonna give u back and they r not responsible about original paper.
they will ask only Ur Original passport that's it.
or if they call u for interview and that time if they ask any original paper u have to bring with u only then.

it should indicate on the package checklist what docs need to be original. i think it's only a few signature pages.

check your country specific forms... it says at the top to send photocopies, but as you go thru the checklist, it'll say "photocopy" of this "photocopy" of that... some it will just state the document... if you choose to, you can send photocopies of those, but i suggest sending originals... they will likely request the originals of those if you don't send them with the application (which will add a delay to your case)...

we sent original birth certificate (applicant) and marriage certificate... EVERYTHING that we provided was returned to us (even things like boarding passes, and of course, our original documents)...

the only issue you run into in sending originals is the potential chance they get lost... some offices have a bit of a reputation for misplacing things... which is the chance you take i guess... they don't loose EVERYBODY's lol... if you get requested for originals, you will either have to drop them off in person (in Manilla) where they will photocopy them, or mail them... at least that's the way it worked in kingston

i just checked the manilla checklist... they say send originals of everything... so yes, you MUST send the originals, sending photocopies would likely mean your application wouldn't make it to manilla, but rather right back to you from mississauga....

I will send everything in original copies to avoid delay prossesing then. We just photocopy them for us to have evidence that we submitted such as incase they get lost in the mail. (i hope not)
