Hi,

So I'm totally confused on how to order all our documents. Could anyone help?

I know the checklist should be on top as well as barcodes from IM0008 but the rest we're confused on...
I figured OWP application should be after the IM0008 barcodes?

Do we need to include a table on contents of sorts? and add sticky notes to refrence photos, passport scans, birth certifcates etc where they match on the form?

I put ours together in order of the checklist, That way nothing was missed. Bar code sheets on top, no table of contents. I separated the photos out with sticky notes of trip 1 and date etc, a small wedding bundle. On the back of each photo I had the required info. I had the sponsor checklist and pile in one envelope, the applicant checklist and pile in another envelope and supporting docs in a third. They weren't full envelopes by any means it just kept it in order and separate without paper clips and staples. We filed the old way but I am sure the new way has checklists as well.

thank you for your help.

so all the barcodes on top? since IM0008 has barcodes as well as 2 other forms i think? so have all those on top and then order all the forms?

or is it barcodes on top of the start of each section? if this makes any sense.

I just don't want to mess up the order and annoy whoever ends up looking through it. :p
does the order matter a lot? as long as its organised and in a general order i assume itll be okay?

I looked it up as I submitted the old way and didn't want to give you the wrong info!

Step 7: Submit your application package

Note: Before submitting your application, you should always make a photocopy for your own records. You may need information from your package after you submit your application.

Now that you’ve finished preparing your application, you can submit it for processing. You should do the following:

  1. Place a copy of the checklist on top of your complete application package. This will help make sure the application can be processed as quickly as possible when it arrives in our office.
  2. If you’re applying under the Spouse or Common-Law Partner in Canada class and the person you are sponsoring is also applying for an open work permit, after the checklist, place:
    • the work permit application form and documents (if applicable) and
    • a separate fee payment receipt for the cost of the work permit application
  3. The order of documents should be as follows:
    • checklist;
    • open work permit application (and supporting documents), if applicable;
    • any barcode pages;
    • supporting documents, in the order they’re listed on the checklist.
