Is it mandatory?

Please reply soon

if you live and file taxes in Canada yes......unless you provide all the other information listed below on the document checklist...but option c is the easist and preferred method....

Yes, it is mandatory. If you are unable to provide one because you have not worked in Canada, you must explain this, and provide equivalent information regarding any other work you did in the past (tax return filed in another country), and/or what savings/investments you have now.

You don't have to show a specific income, but CIC needs to know you can support her in the short-medium term. You should also provide information regarding her ability to become self-sustaining.

are you planning to settle in Quebec? then no from what i understand. elsewhere in canada, yes.

no its not mandatory, if you dont have option-c, write one explanation letter, why cant you submit that.
in my case we didnt send option-c but sent one letter explaining that sponsor was out of canada for last 1 year and still living outside so we are unable to send option-c, we sent sponsor's bank statements to prove her financial ability and got approval.
if you have any good reason for not providing option-c, it will be ok but in some cases, they sent application back because of missing option-c SO be careful
good luck :)

that's right it is not mandatory but preferred.........
