option C Notice of assesment

I am working on the paper work for sponsoring my Husband. I am however living in the US and have been for the past year and a Half. How do I get the Notice of assessment? or do I need it. I am not understanding this part at all. I did my taxes in the US.

In 2010 I sponsored my husband while living in the US. I couldn't do the option C printout and didn't replace it with anything. It wasn't a problem.

(we couldn't move and the PR expired so are on round 2)

I can't provide the most recent Option C Printout because I have been living abroad since 2001. What I am going to do is include the most recent notice of assessment from the Chinese tax authorities (I work in China). The most recent one I have is from 2010. I had it translated and notarized. I am also including a brief explanation.

It's different - it's something you have to request. It's easy to get, just call them (1 800 959 8281) and request it. They should be able to see what year you last did taxes in Canada and send you that one.
