Hi Guys.
I applied for my open work permit 2 months ago from India (as my wife is studying in Canada) and it got denied as the officer was not satisfied with my past visa rejection history. I applied once in 2020 for visitor visa to see my cousin sister but it was rejected.
For my OWP application visa officer asked for the following clarifications:
1. I didn't declare my sisters in Canada. I provided clarification that I have cousin sisters in Canada and that I only have one brother who I mentioned in my application. For proof I attached everybody's passport details that reflected our parent's name.
2. I didn't mention anything about my past wife - they provided a name. I provided proof that I have never been married before and there was no past wife to mention. I reattached my only marriage certificate that says my status at the time of marriage was single. I also provided a notarized document prepared by head of village that says I was never married before.
3. I didn't mention my visa rejection in 2015. Now, for this I mentioned that I did work with a visa consultant in 2015 and paid their fee but I was not satisfied with their service and stopped working with him. I was not aware my application was sent and was not made aware that it got rejected.
When my visa in 2020 got rejected, even then the VO didn't ask anything about 2015 rejection because I didn't mention it there as well as I was not aware of it.
Now, I believe #1 and #2 were cleared and that the rejection happened because of #3 as the reason is "I was not satisfied by your past visa rejection history".
I am thinking of applying again and can mention 2015 rejection but I would love if you guys can give your opinion on the situation.
Excerpt from rejection letter: I am not satisfied that you have truthfully answered all questions in the documents you submitted in support of your application as required by subsection 16(1) of the IRPA. Specifically I am not satisfied that the following information is truthful. You did not declare your past refusal and inadmissibility to Canada under A40.
