I wish to understand my wife's open work permit observations. She is planning to work as an early childhood educator, which implies that she completes some basic certifications. However, her work permit indicates "unless authorized, prohibited from attending any educational institution, or taking any academic, professional or vocational training course”. Would she be able to take these certifications, which are online?

Is this a Canadian program? What school? She can attend online programs at post secondary institutions outside Canada. If she plans to attend a Canadian DLI (even online) and the program is more than 6 months, she needs a study permit.

Thank you for your reply! She has an open work permit which she obtained due to my study permit from a Canadian university. I am currently doing my master's and she has her work permit, but we are wondering about this observation and her plans to become an early childhood educator.
