Open Work Permit in Quebec

Hi everybody!

Let me guys explain here my situation to see if anyone can help me out.

I am working in Quebec with a work Visa that expires in 2 years. I have already obtained my CSQ and I have applied for my Permanent Resident too. In this last process I have already received my AOR and I had my medical results done. At this point, and while waiting for my Permanent Residence, I would like to apply for an open working permit but I cannot find any clear information in the CIC site to do it. Calling CIC by phone didn't help either as they are always referring me to the same CIC web site. Does anyone know the steps to get this permit?
Also, once I obtain my open work permit, does it allow me to be covered by RAMQ? I am afraid I will lose my health coverage with it.

Could anyone assist on this please?

What is your current work permit? I know that in order to apply for open work permit, you should have a spouse that is working at high skilled level like NOC 0 A, B or your spouse has a student visa studying at any Quebec university. For the RAMQ, you could only avail health coverage if you have owp under your spouse temporary (closed) work permit but not if you are an owp because of spouse's student visa. You could check in RAMQ website in the eligibility criteria.

I am currently applying for owp together with my husband. He is applying for temporary work permit (closed) under international mobility program. What type of CSQ do u have (PEQ or regular)? how long did you got the csq from the date of application?
